BeauGen launches the clear choice in enhancing the breast pumping experience

Where We Started

BeauGen created it’s Original BeauGen Breast Pump Cushion after a first-time mom realized just how tough and painful it was to commit to breast pumping.⁠

Like many moms, Tu-Hien Le, Founder and CEO of BeauGen, found breast pumping difficult, painful, and isolating. After joining several supportive social media communities dedicated to breastfeeding and pumping, Tu-Hien discovered that her struggles were not unique. She was not alone, and she knew there had to be a better way. 

⁠In late 2015, moms seeking a more comfortable breast pumping experience supported Tu-Hien's KickStarter campaign to create the first-ever breast pump cushion. After designing and testing 40+ prototypes, Tu-Hien and her husband developed the Original BeauGen Breast Pump Cushion.⁠ Since 2015, BeauGen has helped over 30,000 moms pump in comfort.

Ear to the Ground

After five years of increased sales and expanded marketplaces, most startups step away from innovation and focus solely on growth. However, our team of hard-working mamas does not stop. We are listening to our moms to ensure that we are addressing the right challenges and developing solutions that support all moms’ lactation goals! 

By collecting product feedback via online surveys and talking to our customers and potential customers through a variety of channels, we continually analyze customer data to decipher trends and identify common challenges that our moms are facing. Over the past year, one trend rose to the forefront: BeauGen Moms were looking for a clearer breast pump cushion to better help with nipple alignment. 

Manufacturing & Testing

Customers wanted a soft, stretchy breast pump cushion with all of the great features of our original cushion - such as being 100% recyclable, made of FDA-compliant, BPA-free, and food-safe plastic, and made in the USA - but they also wanted the cushions to be clear. So Tu-Hien and her team went to work identifying a new manufacturer who could adapt our Original BeauGen Breast Pump Cushion to meet our customers’ needs.

It took a bit of work, but we did it!  In April 2020, the Clearly Comfy Cushion was released as a limited edition product. We wanted moms - both existing and new BeauGen customers - to try the clears and give us their feedback. Thanks to the many moms who tried and provided detailed feedback on our Limited Edition Clearly Comfy Cushions! It was because of their efforts and praise of this revolutionary product that we decided to bring back the Clearly Comfy Cushions for even more moms to enjoy. 

Committed to Customers 

From the small group of moms on social media that Tu-Hien lamented with about the discomfort and struggles of breastfeeding and breast pumping in 2014 to the 30,000+ moms that BeauGen supports today, we have stayed true to our vision and mission. Our mission is to make mommying feel good and to support moms throughout their motherhood journey. By listening to our moms, we are able to use their feedback to design better products, services and partnerships that address everyday mom challenges.
